Steve Kellman

US veteran Steve Kelman left us on Thursday, May 2nd, at the age of 90. Born January 30th 1923, he served as a soldier in the 16th Infantry Regiment of the US 1st Division and landed on June 6th 1944 on Omaha Beach in the 1st wave. Wounded, he was repatriated to England. After a month of hospitalization, he joined his company in France and participated in the Battle of Hürtgen and the Ardennes. Steve had attended the 67th Anniversary of the D-Day ceremonies. Turning towards the beach, when the colors and the national anthems rose, he was taken so deeply with the atmosphere and the public, that emotions produced tears in his eyes. Tenno Dogger, president of the Deep Respect Association, says: “Steve was a fantastic man, full of humor and love. It was an honor to know him.”
